My work consists of installations, visual sets, video work & graphic design.  

Being a student at the University of the Arts in Utrecht, my practice spans across several media and techniques. Whilst being exposed to all ways of making, I eventually found my way into creating physical installations and specially made visual shows. 

MEET: BENT

Bent van den Berg is a visual artist with a passion for moving imagery. In his work, he mixes the analog with the digital, through enriching physical sculptures with a visual-show. By means of this, he rather works abstract than figuratively and tries to bring art closer to the experience.

As a VJ, Bent found room for artistic experiment in nightclubs, where he continuously tries to grasp the atmosphere and strengthen it through imagery.  Through his work, Bent acts upon what he think is the most beautiful about humans: being able to sense. Therefore his goal is to offer an elusive yet tangible experience.

MOVEMENT THROUGH TIME

‘Movement through Time’ is een mixed-media sculptuur die de tijd benaderd als iets wat meer beschrijft dan een cijfer op de klok. Het werk stuurt aan op een verandering in de tijdperceptie door de toeschouwer mee te nemen in een audio-visuele ervaring. In een constructie waarbij projectiebeeld via gekantelde spiegels meerdere oppervlaktes belicht, creëert de reflectie van een spiegel een tunnel-effect.


Beweging geeft de tijd zijn volume en karakter. Het audiovisuele werk vertoont de tijd als een continue en veranderlijke stroom waarin beweging centraal staat. Vanuit een ogenschijnlijk vacuüm, leidt de aanzet van beweging tot een ritmisch spel.  Met een abstracte esthetiek van beeld en geluid wordt de toeschouwer bevangen door het tijdelijke en beweeglijke karakter van de tijd.
